Crossfire
arcade shoot'em up game for Commodore 64, 1983

They have landed and are taking over the
city. Steadily they make their way
across town, destroying everything in
their paths. The town has been
evacuated, and your regiment has
retreated, leaving you alone in the city
at the mercy of aliens.
The aliens have you surrounded, and
laser shots fly from all directions.
Your movements are confined but you
haven't given up. If you are to live,
you'll have to concentrate on where the
shots are coming from and where you're
going because if you don't you'll get
caught in the CROSS FIRE.
Look out!! The aliens have landed and
they are closing in.
Only three ships are left to protect the
city from the invaders, and you have a
limited supply of ammunition.
Watch it!! They are firing at you!
That's it: move left, fire; back up,
fire again. Make every shot count!
Keep firing at the aliens and dodging
their missiles before they hit you.

PRESS SPACEBAR (To stop man)
The keyboard controls may be used at any
time. These keys are set, but they can
be changed. Speed may be fast or slow.
To redefine keys and speed, PRESS F3
Joystick
The joystick may be plugged into Port #2
and may be used at any time.
Point joystick in desired direction. To
fire, press button at the same time.
Center joystick to stop.
FUNCTION KEYS
F1 To Start/Restart Game
F3 To Redefine Keys, Fast or Slow Speed
F5 To Toggle Sound On/Off
F7 To Pause Game
HOW TO PLAY GAME
The object of the game is to SURVIVE!!!
Get the beasties and clear the screen
to get to another level.
At the beginning of your mission, you
will receive 35 missiles. When you are
down to your last 10 missiles, a
reloading station will appear. To
reload, run over the station. Reloading
is automatic every time you get a new
ship.
For each screen you clear, you will
receive 5 fewer missiles until you reach
the minumum of 15 missiles.
SCORING
(saucer) 10 points
(bug) 20 points
(gorfian) 40 points
(alien) 80 points
Extra Points:
Every 12 missiles a (pod) will appear on
screen. Run over it. You have 6 shots
before it disappears. If you miss your
chance, you must wait till the next
screen before another appears.
Points each time are:
1st - 100 3rd - 400
2nd - 200 4th - 800
Extra Ships: 1 for every 5000 points.
The number of ships appears in the lower
right-hand corner under the picture of
your ship.
